some money fields(especially principal and principal total) were 'cut-off' when numbers got too big ... usually something like 222,222.44

I appreciate you only have a certain amount of room to work with but maybe you can reduce size allocated to product, loan office and maybe the heading value of Installment to increase the size of the amount fields
Might be worth running this against the gk test data to see where sizes should be adjusted.
Also note that you need to get the up to date pentaho reports from mifosx git under directory src/main/pentahoReports as there could be differences to your latest version.
