Unable to reproduce the problem you see.
1. I created new loan application with loan officer assigned.
2. approved loan application (with date, loan officer assignment date becomes the loan approval date by default)
3. tried to unassign loan officer with date before 'approval/assignment' date
received validation message:
The Loan officer Unassign date (2011,3,1) cannot be before its assignment date (2011,3,4).
