Had a quick look at this issue.
Enabling scrolling on datatables is simple enough (http://www.datatables.net/examples/basic_init/scroll_x.html)
However this does not provide a good user experience unless vertical scrolling is also done from the datatable (using browser scroll bar would result in the horizontal datatable scroll being at the end of the page when you view 1000 records etc)
A clean solution would probably involve having double horizontal scrollbars (like https://github.com/sniku/jQuery-doubleScroll but they don't seem to work too well with datatables http://datatables.net/forums/discussion/13511/horizontal-scrollbars-at-top-bottom/p1)
The current UI looks good enough for me and I wouldn't mind closing off this issue
