Pentaho reports have been localized (the default format is mmm-dd-yyyy...based on locale the 3 alphabet month name varies, so there is no scope for confusion as to reading the date parameter)
Fix also allows adding localization for labels. Pentaho also takes care of selecting appropriate number separators based on locale etc
