A powerful feature in Mifos 2.x as Variable Installment loans which enables support for loan products where customers need a very flexible repayment schedule (i.e. an agricultural loan where cash flows are very seasonal and repayments will occur later on in the loan cycle).
The feature allowed the user to specify whether or a loan product could have variable installment loans. For those products that support variable installments, you should be able to specify a minimum gap between installments during product configuration.
During actual creation of a loan account, the user has complete control over the repayment schedule with the ability to change the dates and amounts of each installment.
