Mark Shuttleworth has connected us with his resident charming experts to assist us in making a Juju Charm for Mifos X that can be deployed in any cloud environment or locally.
Commentary from Robert Ayres (Ubuntu Charm expert) on Java / Tomcat app charming. http://voices.canonical.com/robert.ayres/2012/08/01/juju - java-cluster-part-1/
- you might start by forking the existing tomcat7 charm (http://manage.jujucharms.com/charms/precise/tomcat7) directly from launchpad (lp:charms/tomcat7)
- mysql is a great first relation to build out... we have an existing charm (http://manage.jujucharms.com/charms/precise/mysql) and you can find plenty of examples of hooks from other services implementing this interface (http://manage.jujucharms.com/interfaces/mysql)
- SSL is usually set up so that the certs can be passed as charm config parameters (see something like http://manage.jujucharms.com/charms/precise/apache2 for an example)
