Hello Michael, few clarifications:
-
Will this work for the recent enhancements in Mifos X for interest recalculation and will it work for all repayment strategies?
for example, for interest recalculation - If a client pays more than what is expected then the future installments interests are recalculated - and installment amounts will change. When the refund is done, then the interest recalculation may need to be done again.
-
For repayment strategies where the excess payment is first adjusted to future fees or interest first - will the refund work here too? Please ensure that accounting entries are handled accordingly.
-
If a refund was already done to customer - and then a backdated transaction/reversal is done which will in effect make over-payment as zero - will system not allow such a back-dated transaction or will the refund be left as is? For example:
As on 3rd March customer paid 800, which is an over-payment of 300 for the installment. And then on 4th March, customer is refunded 300. Now user goes and changes the 3rd March transaction as 500 instead of 800. Will the customer now be a defaulter?
