Currently, if the last installment amount is less than 50% of the installment amount, then it gets added to the previous installment. This was done so that we can avoid having a small amount for the last installment.
I would suggest to add a new product level configuration: "Threshold for including last Installment in previous installment (%) for Last Installment ".
This would be defaulted to 50 (%) for existing products during upgrades. This is to ensure existing functionality is not impacted.
If this configuration is greater than zero: If the last installment is less than or equal to this percentage value of the previous installment amount, then the last installment will be added to the previous installment. There will be no amount due for the last installment.
If this configuration is set to zero, then the last installment will never be combined with the previous installment even if the last installment amount is of a very small value.
