Hi all,
Just to clarify, our french translation is about 90-95% complete, there are
still some remaining issues to clean up and some missing strings.
Which would be a great opportunity for anyone who felt like helping us
finish the work to use Pootle!
Thanks,
Ryan

Hello once again Daniele,
I¹ve included two of our technical program managers, Ryan Whitney and Kay
Chau, on this email and have also copied our mifos-users mailing list.
Please reply to all so that everyone can aid you in helping you with your
initial Mifos setup questions and difficulties.
What questions did you have about defining roles? Are you trying to
allocate different permissions to users on the Mifos system?
Concerning translation, our current releases of Mifos ship with the Mifos
interface fully translated into French during the initial application
configuration, you simply need to change two localization code settings to
FR to display the French user interface:
1. Open the file applicationConfiguration.custom.properties in the
conf folder of the Mifos install package. This file contains all the same
properties and values as the default version.
2. Uncomment the properties whose values you want to change and edit
the values.
1. Locate Localization.LanguageCode and change its value to FR
2. Locate Localization.CountryCode and change its value to FR
3. Save applicationConfiguration.custom.properties and place it on the
app server classpath
<http://www.mifos.org/developers/wiki/AppServerClasspath> .
Full details regarding configuring language settings can be found here:
http://www.mifos.org/developers/wiki/ConfiguringMifos#locale.
The entire configuration guide for Mifos is located at
http://www.mifos.org/developers/wiki/ConfiguringMifos and contains full
details about the parameters and settings that can be changed during initial
setup.
In your email you refer to a right column for translation; this ³define
labels² section from the Admin tab isn¹t intended for translation but rather
to rename labels if your organization uses a different terminology.
Translation of the enter user interface is handled in the application
configuration file as explained above. Please see attached screenshot for
more details.
We have also just recently launched our online translation tool, Pootle,
which allows you to directly submit new translations of Mifos into other
languages. Currently Mifos ships with both English and French localizations
but our community can now translate it into languages like Spanish, Arabic,
Chinese that can then be incorporated into future releases.

Hello,
First of all, I wish an happy new year !
Secundo, I need your help about Mifos product and specially about the
defining roles function.
I guess it is possible to translate all the labels of this funciton into an
other language (it seems that the right column is dedicated to translation),
but I dont see how to manage this operation.
Thank you for your answers.
Daniele
