Hi Ryan, There are different types of account opening (1) Savings (2) Current (3) Fixed Deposit e.t.c.
Cheques are not issued to customers on Savings account, but Cheques are issued to Customers on 'Current' account, so the customers on 'current' account can ask someone to do withdrawal for them by giving a signed cheque to the person that is doing withdrawal. Moreso, there is a charge on each transaction if customer operates 'Current' account, for example whenever a cheque is issued there is a fixed charged called 'COT' on that account. But withdrwals in Savings does not attract any 'COT'. Fixed account is a process by which a client decided to let the MFI keep certain amount of money for him over a period of time. At the end of this period, the client get his money back with interest. I don't know if these infomation help,Sir? The challenge we have presently is how we can configure MIFOS to serve these kind of customers. Thank you for your time. -Micheal Abobade > Micheal, > > I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'current' and 'fixed deposit' > accounts. > Could you give a bit more detail on what this means and what you are > asking? > > I'm also responding on the Mifos User's list, as I think your question may > be more appropriate for that list. > > Ryan > > Ryan Whitney > Mifos Technical Program Manager > [email protected] > Mifos - Technology that Empowers Microfinance (www.mifos.org) > > > >> From: <[email protected]> >> Reply-To: Developer <[email protected]> >> Date: Wed, 18 Feb 2009 10:08:36 -0600 (CST) >> To: <[email protected]> >> Subject: [Mifos-developer] Creating a Current Account >> >> Hi, >> >> Can someone help put me through on how i can create 'current' and 'fixed >> deposit' account in MIFOS. >> >> Thank you so much for your time. >> >> -Micheal Abobade >> >> >> >> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ >> Open Source Business Conference (OSBC), March 24-25, 2009, San >> Francisco, CA >> -OSBC tackles the biggest issue in open source: Open Sourcing the >> Enterprise >> -Strategies to boost innovation and cut costs with open source >> participation >> -Receive a $600 discount off the registration fee with the source code: >> SFAD >> http://p.sf.net/sfu/XcvMzF8H >> > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Open Source Business Conference (OSBC), March 24-25, 2009, San Francisco, CA -OSBC tackles the biggest issue in open source: Open Sourcing the Enterprise -Strategies to boost innovation and cut costs with open source participation -Receive a $600 discount off the registration fee with the source code: SFAD http://p.sf.net/sfu/XcvMzF8H _______________________________________________ Mifos-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mifos-users
