Sounds like a reasonable solution to me. I'll pass it on to SEM. Thanks, Emily. - Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Sorry for the delayed response.

As you know, there are 2 user levels in Mifos: loan officer and non loan
officers. Loan officers can see ONLY their clients. Non loan officers
(data entry clerks, branch managers, areas managers, etc) can see all
clients affiliated with their office and offices underneath them-- for
example, an area manager can view all clients associated to branches
under the area office.

One suggestion is to create a new system user for the loan officer that
has a *non-loan-officer* level-- you could call it
vacationingloanofficer or something like that-- and then give that
permissions only to do those activities related to a loan officer
(applying installments, creating clients, whatever the list). This will
allow the LO to see and edit ALL customer accounts, but they won't be
able to do any admin functions. You could turn off this user when the
vacation is over.

Let me know if this approach would work or if you have any other
questions,
Emily.

Subject: [Mifos-users] loan officer access to other branches

SEM, the MFI I work with, is small. It has two branches and just a few
loan officers. With so few loan officers, when one is absent the loan
officer filling in for them may be one assigned to a different branch.
However, Mifos does not allow users signed in as a loan officer of one
branch to access customers of another branch. Neither does Mifos allow
loan officers to be assigned to the headquarters. Is there a way to
allow loan officers to access customers outside of their assigned
branch
without giving them administrative privileges or an alternative login?

Thanks,
