Hi all-
Nagandand and I were speaking today and he expressed some concern about
setting up MySQL replication in production. He will be getting
replication set up in test next week, but is worried about the impact on
MySQL performance when he sets it up in production. I think the overall
performance should improve if we make sure all reporting is off the
replicated database, but we wanted to make sure.
Naganand- can you tell us about the process that is occurring to set up
MySQL replication?
Van- do you think GK will be safe setting up MySQL replication in
production? Are there any issues that we should watch out for?
Naganand wants to make sure it won't have a negative impact before he
sets this up in production.
It does appear that there is a lot to take into account when setting up
MySQL replication (an article that discusses some issues is here:

ication/) so I want to make sure we are all comfortable with the
process.
