Noel,

I'm also sorry the installation was too complex. As Ed mentioned, any
feedback including what you would expect from an installation package
would be appreciated. For example, would you like a Windows install
with an installation wizard? A zip package that contains all or some of
the 3rd party tools required? Do you have java or MySQL already
installed on your system?

Regards,

Jeff

Noel,

I'm sorry to hear that you've decided to move forward with
LoanPerformer. The ease of use of the Mifos software itself is one of
its strongest points but we do recognize that the install process is
overly complicated. This shouldn't be a barrier to accessing technology
and we're working to overcoming it.

Others throughout our community have expressed the same concerns so I'm
currently finalizing an updated set of install documentation that should
address these common problems. Once I've got that posted - I would
appreciate your feedback on whether or not it has improved so we can
make the process as simple and easy to understand for others out there.

Please share any additional feedback on how we could improve our
documentation, software and community in general at
http://mifosinitiative.uservoice.com/pages/29674-community-tools

Thanks,

Hi,
i think your application is very good. But on the other hand it's
frustrating to for newbies like myself to install on windows XP.
I downloaded JDK 5.0 with Java EE because what I see in your
documentaion (
https://mifos.dev.java.net/source/browse/*checkout*/mifos/branches/v1.2.
x/mi
fos/INSTALL?rev=HEAD&view=markup
<https://mifos.dev.java.net/source/browse/*checkout*/mifos/branches/v1.2
.x/mifos/INSTALL?rev=HEAD&view=markup> )
looks to be seriously out dated. Your application in general to me, is
just
way too complicated to install. Wouldn't it be better if you have an
installation package with everything needed from an application
perspective
so that newbies like me don't have to be feeling around and getting
frustrated. This MIFOS, is "NOT" user friendly from an installation
perspective at all. I and a few friends are turned off because this is
just
too complicated to install.

Kind Regards
