I think this should be determined by what you set for
FiscalCalendarRules.WorkingDays. So by default, Mifos has Monday as the
start of your work week.

Subject: Re: [Mifos-users] Changing center meeting dates logic
Kay,
How is a week determined? Is it Sunday - Saturday, or Monday to Sunday?
I think that's the only thing that's not quite clear.

Hi everyone
We are updating the business logic in Mifos around changing center
meeting dates. The existing logic is not consistent so we are
implementing a consistent way to update these dates.
Now, when changing a center meeting date in the current installment
"period", the change will always be applied in the next installment
"period", where a period is the frequency of your meeting schedule and
the repayment falls in.
For example, if you have a weekly meeting on Wednesdays currently, and
you change the meeting date to Thursday, the current working week will
still keep the original repayment days of Wednesday. Your meeting date
will be changed next working week to Thursday. This is regardless of
whether or not a repayment has past this week. In my example today
(March 1st), this week's meeting will still occur on March 3rd, but next
week's repayment will now be on March 10th.
The same applies for monthly meetings. In this example, you normally
have a meeting date on the 20th of every month, and you change the
meeting date to the 5th of every month. In the current month (March),
your meeting date will still fall on March 20th. However, in April, the
following month, the meeting date will be on April 5th.
Also, this mirrors what happens in Mifos right now, but as always,
changing the center meeting date does not take effect until batch jobs
are run. This means that if your batch jobs are scheduled to run at
midnight (by default), the determination of what current installment
period you are in happens after midnight. For example, if you make a
change in the Mifos UI on Feb 28th, the change doesn't actually happen
until March 1st. This means if you have a monthly meeting, and you
decide to change the meeting dates to fall on the 1st of every month,
the change will take effect in April.
We will update the FS with this information. Let us know if there are
any thoughts or questions around this.
