That's great input Ryan.

To add on that, when I have been carrying out my deployments what I do is
just enter the current loans and backdate the system to the day the loan was
issued. Please note that this is very cumbersome as once you backdate the
system you have to keep logging in and out which takes quite a bit of time.
However if you are up to the task I guess its ok.

I don't know if this may help but this is what I would do when entering
historical loan data ( take an example if a loan of 100,000 was issued on
30/11/2009 and payments made to date (25/05/2010) 9s 55,000)

1. Check the day the loan was issued. (30/11/2009)
2. Back date the system to the day the loan was issued. (30/11/2009)
3. Issue the loan. (100,000)
4. While the system is still backdated, enter all payments that have
been made up to the current date. (55,000)
5. Change system back to current date (25/05/2010)
6. Run batch Jobs (if payments have been made on a regular basis then
this should be fine, if not it will show you the number of payments that
have been missed)

Hope that helps

Subject: Re: [Mifos-users] Configuring product start date to past

Asheikh,

Currently, Mifos does not allow the backdating of products through the UI.
Changing the system clock to the past is the only way. I would ask why its
important to set the product start date in 2009? Are you planning on
entering in past loan data? If so, you are going to run into the same
issue.

If you don't have a large number of data to enter, changing the system date
is probably your best bet (although a little risky). If you are looking to
import a large amount of accounts, I would recommend that you consider just
moving forward with the opening balances of these accounts (ie, the
remainder that's currently left).

Hi,
I have new installation of mifos, and I need to products with start date of
2009. Is there any way I can allow that without changing the system clock.

Add a new Loan product. - Enter Loan product information.
Complete the fields below. Then click Preview. Click Cancel to return to
Admin without submitting information.
*Fields marked with an asterisk are required.

* The Start date can be anything between current date and 1 year from
the current date.
