Have you looked in the logs?  What issues are you seeing when this is
happening?

Have you looked at the performance of your server?  How is the memory and
cpu usage look at times like this?

What size are you running at these days?  How many clients?  How big has
your database gotten?

As Udai did mention, there have been substantial improvements to the Mifos
software in versions 1.4 and 1.5, so that may resolve your issue, but
probably best to try and determine where you are seeing the issues.
