The following are several areas where assistance would come in handy to
help the staff at VasTech, a Specialist in Uganda, push forward with
more Mifos deployments.

Questions about where these tools are at are exactly the kinds of
information we want to know from our Specialists - please follow Thomas'
lead and let us know what tools/resources you need to more effectively
implement Mifos.

I've added some links; others, please help point Thomas in the right
direction.

=========

1. Advanced Training in Mifos Development (How Mifos modules have been
integrated and possibility of incoperating additional Modules into
Mifos)

<ec> I would suggest familiarizing yourself with the Developer
Documentation section on mifosforge - there are a number of different
sections on the domain model, the data model, getting your development
environment set up. Please don't hesitate to ask in more specifics what
information you're seeking. Others please add specific links to areas on
mifosforge to help Thomas out.

2. New Reporting Tools available to ease on-demand report creation for
Mifos

<ec> Thomas, our recently released Business Intelligence Suite built on
a data warehouse in Pentaho should meet all your reporting requirements
providing an easier more powerful framework of report-building tools and
a wider set of standard reports. You can learn about it at a high level
and view sample reports at
http://mifos.org/product/download-mifos/business-intelligence-suite. To
install, please follow Windows or Linux specific documentation at:
http://mifosforge.jira.com/wiki/display/MIFOS/Installing+Mifos+BI+%28Pen
taho%29

3. Mifos End- User Basic Training, Support and Maintenance Skills for
the Colleagues involved in the Client Training:

<ec> A couple links to sample training materials are in our deployment
toolkit section for UAT, Training and Rollout including a good
powerpoint submitted by Nayan from Conflux:
http://mifos.org/support/deployment-toolkit/5-uat-training-and-rollout

4. Documentation on Mifos Deployment and Tally Integration Steps and
Procedures, this will serve to ensure we never miss any import
deployment step.

<ec> Refer to the deployment toolkit for all the stages of the
deployment (http://mifos.org/support/deployment-toolkit). For
accounting specifically look at:
http://mifos.org/documentation/accounting-integration. Here's a link to
the functional spec for our Tally Integration (which is India-specific):
http://mifosforge.jira.com/wiki/display/MIFOS/Mifos-Tally+Interface

5. End User Mifos System Documentation to avail Clients before and after
Training.

<ec> Please visit our User Manual on FLOSS Manuals - it's current to
Mifos 2.0. You can download it as a PDF and soon you'll be able to
download and rewrite individual chapters to be specific to the MFIs
you're working with: http://en.flossmanuals.net/mifos-user-manual/

6. Documentation on Official Deployment steps for Clients who wish to
incoperate all their Old Data with in Mifos.

<ec> Others in the community can share their thoughts and potentially
tools for historical data migration. Some other specialists in Africa
have been successful in using Selenium Scripts described in this mailing
list topic:
https://groups.google.com/d/topic/mifosusers/XXMldMkij0I/discussion.
Other tips on data migration can be found here:
http://mifos.org/support/deployment-toolkit/4-data-migration including a
toolkit for migrating just opening balances:
http://mifos.org/sites/rollout.mifos.org/files/Mifos%20-%20Opening%20Bal
ances%20Data%20Migration%20Method.zip

7. And Lastly if possibly a one-click installation file for Mifos
bundling up appache tomcat, mifos and mysql server together with all
required environment variables and application Settings

<ec> That's something that is often requested. Some volunteers are
working on potentially at least bundling together tomcat and mifos in an
executable WAR file -
https://groups.google.com/d/topic/mifosdeveloper/O7wvuLMjmIE/discussion
There are some license limitations to bundling MySQL with Mifos but
we're exploring those.
