Kevin,
I have a tools.jar in C:\dev\java\jdk_16_u13\lib\tools.jar (my jre is a
different version and location to yours). The program in your case seems to
look for tools.jar in C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_24\bin/lib/tools.jar.
This is a bit strange. I don't have an answer to this as I haven't come
across such problems in starting up the pentaho server, but it looks like
maybe your java settings are unexpected.
The other problem you may encounter if you are running mifos and the mifos
bi on the same machine is that there will be a port problem (both will use
8080). I've not had to change the mifos port or the mifos bi port myself
but I think Ramya may have replied on this list to someone who had this
issue.
Finally, when your server is up and running you may still have the mysql
3306 port problem when running reports as the properties file you would have
changed to run the ETL job is not the same as the pentaho server uses. To
change to 3307 you have to first run
'pentaho_windows\administration-console\start-pac.bat' then in your browser
enter 'localhost:8099'
sign-in using 'admin' / 'password'
click on 'Database connections' tab (don't worry if you get a previous
connection message... that will happen if your server is not running)
Click on SourceDB and change the URL section to say 3307 and click the
update button. Then the same for DestinationDB.
Then the reports should be pointing to the right place. Worst case, bring
down the server and start it up again.
