Emily, we encountered the same problems with the aforementioned reports during the mifos Deployment for E.P.F.T. (http://www.eptf.org ). Although, we did not resolve the issues with report, we incorporated the Pentaho alternative. i think its best alternative.
My advice, to Adelin is to upgrade their current system to the latest mifos version and incorporate the mifos BI suite 1.2. if he runs into any issue, please use mailing list for assistance.
