I followed -
http://mifos.org/documentation/installation-guide/ubuntu-installation-guide.
i.e I installed jdk, mysql, and jetty, ran the install-ubuntu.sh script
that was inside mifos as root user which created the DB and all just fine.
I installed jetty from ubuntu 11.10 repository - ugupta suggested over irc
that I should use Jetty 7.3. I will try with that and let you know.
