Hi All, I have a quick question for the user community, its around a long standing issue in Mifos which is the ability to support multiple disbursments in a loan or also referred to as 'partial disbursements'
see https://mifosforge.jira.com/browse/MIFOS-4848 We intend to add support for this into 'Mifos X' and see it as next logical step given existing functionality around loans (single disbursement style loans) in 'mifos x'. Within the community we know of: 1. ENDA providing this type of product ('Eddar') 2. Zayyad (Intrasoft Technologies) looking for this type of suport Are there others in the community that provide housing improvement loans or provide loans that have multiple disbursements? It would be great if Zayyad, or ENDA or indeed anyone providing this type of loans could response to this thread and tell us how they implement the loans if they do. A concrete example of the mechanics would be great. At present I am imagining that it works somthing like the following: Total Loan Amount: 10,000 Ksh (the total amount that can be drawn down) 1. first disbursement: 2,500 Ksh (repayments over say 6 installments monthly with principal, interest break down etc) 2. a second disubrsement of 2,500 Ksh given people happy with work proceeding as expected - the first disbursement amount isnt required to be paid back in full before second disbursement is given out? As a result i would expect the amount paid back for principal and interest for installments changes as a result of increase in principal outstanding? Would love to hear from others on how this works in practise.
