The tool supports MX XLS 2003 format, OpenOffice supports MS XLS 2003
format.
You won't be able to use ODF excel files with the tool. The validation
embedded to XLS template are very specific sometimes, so it is easier to
stick to one XLS format.
Limiting to MX XLS format was done to limit the scope.
Since we are using Apache POI this tool can be extended easily to support
other formats.
