That is the prompt.
You need to execute the commands there ending the semi colon and press on
enter. The command will run.
If you are still having difficulty, I suggest you get a GUI for MySQL either
1. MySQL workbench http://www.mysql.com/products/workbench/
or
2. Heidi SQL http://www.heidisql.com/
will be good for you.
