Hello everyone,
I realize this announcement will come as quite the surprise given how soon
our 2014 Summit in Kampala is approaching. After listening to the direct
feedback from many of our community members, our global community is
concerned of traveling to Kampala because of health and security
<http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-29201312> issues.
Our goal with the summit is to have a vibrant experience with the maximum
number of participants and attendees from around the globe. Given that
we've decided to move this year's summit to a location that is convenient
and accessible to all - Dubai. Based on this last-minute change and the
forthcoming holiday season, we've had to move the dates to February 10 to
13.
This year's Mifos Summit will now be held In Dubai from February 10 to 13,
2015.
We are securing a new venue and will have the summit website and
registration pages updated in the near future.
Now for some important information for those who've already registered,
paid for flights, or been awarded scholarships:
- For those who've registered, your registration will be carried over to
tickets for the new summit date and location
- For those who've already purchased airfare, we will refund any change
fees that can't be avoided when rebooking flights
- For those who've been awarded scholarships, your travel won't be
interrupted we will still be able to cover the same proportion of your
airfare as you were previously allocated. Stay tuned for a personal email.

directly with everyone who has been in discussion with me regarding the
summit.
While we won't be able to host in East Africa this year, I'm confident
we'll have a very productive and meaningful summit that brings together our
community which has grown extensively this past year.
