I completely agree, from our end one of the key reasons people use flat
interest loans (or essentially all fixed schedule loans) is that you can
have standardised products, repayment amounts etc. And this change diverts
away from it, and therefore for the cases we've tested so far, we are
unable to get the same schedules without indeed requiring the data entry
teams to change the way they are working, or making hard-coded UI
modifications for it.
@Adi: Do you plan to make sure that the flat loans will just keep using the
same way of calculating as before for "Same as repayment Period", and for
people who do want to get the period included, they can use the 'daily'
calculation type? I believe this is also what I proposed initially, so was
wondering if that was the fix you were proposing, or whether it would work
differently?
Have cc'ed the Fineract dev list now, and happy to write it up on the JIRA
there, but think it is good we are clear on the proposed solution as well.
