Kindly delete the account number preference found in Admin-> System -> Account 
Number Pref so that savings accounts are created without the prefix "AS" and it 
should work. Please note that deleting the number preference will not affect 
already created savings accounts (only new entries) and performing a template 
download from the Data Tool will still give you an error. A clean way is to 
close all the previous savings accounts or if you are tech savvy you can locate 
the entries in mysql database and perform an bulk update to remove any leading 
or trailing characters in the column account_number.
