Hello Mifos and Fineract communities,

We are still continuing to have some issues with emails inadvertently
getting sent to broader mailing lists like dev@community rather than
dev@fineract or emails getting sent to deprecated lists like user@fineract
or dev@fineract.incubator.

So this is just a friendly reminder on which mailing lists to send to and
for what purposes.

But what I ask of everyone in the community, is to be patient, and be
tolerant. We are a diverse community and communicating via mailing lists is
a new foreign concept for many so if we want to encourage transparency and
on-list communication, we need to be friendly in coaching people and
helping them if they make a mistake in what list to send to.

But, in addition to taking that message to heart, some other tips include:

1) Clean up your Contact/Auto-Saved contacts etc so your email client
doesn't auto-populate an old list
2) Always check which email lists you are sending to when hitting
"reply-all" to ensure they're relevant.

Mailing Lists to Use
===============

*d...@fineract.apache.org <d...@fineract.apache.org>*
*++++++++++++++++++++*

This is the primary and only mailing list you should use related to the
Fineract project or software.

*If you don't recall, we no longer have a u...@fineract.apache.org list
because that's been deprecated.
*We don't use d...@incubator.fineract.apache.org since we've graduated to a
top level project.
*DON'T send emails to d...@community.apache.org - that is a very widely
subscribed to list and only for general ASF community development issues.

While the distinction is nuanced and it's sometimes hard to draw the line
between what goes on Fineract vs what goes on Mifos mailing list, this post
should on the Mifos blog (
https://mifos.org/blog/infrastructure-apache-mifosx/) should help you
remember.

For Fineract 1.x, it relates just to the back-end and APIs, for anything
related to the Mifos X web UI, pentaho reports, or the mobile apps, that
all belongs on the Mifos developer list.

*mifos-develo...@lists.sourceforge.net
<mifos-develo...@lists.sourceforge.net>* and *mifos-users@lists.sourceforge.net
<mifos-users@lists.sourceforge.net>*

*+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++*

Use these lists for discussion related to any of the Mifos X distribution -
reporting, web, and mobile apps, etc.

You can find all this info at:

Thanks!

Ed
