Hi Mnzava, We appreciate your interest in mifos. The configuration " interest-charged-from-date-same-as-disbursal-date" is used only for interest calculation purpose and does not fulfill your needs.
As Santhosh explained, the upfront interest collection feature is not present in mifos currently. however, we can achieve it with a small workaround mentioned below. Assuming from the example you wrote in this thread, the interest calculation is of flat and loan term as 1 month We can create a Disbursement fees with the name "upfront interest" and while creating a loan, we can select the loan interest as Zero(As we have already provided the interest rate for disbursement fees) The result of the above changes will look like below. you can also login to our demo server https://demo.mifos.io/ with username:mifos and password:password and verify the loan which I have configured, loan ID:000003594.
