We first encountered the database issue where it hard errors. At this stage, we realized that the database version was higher than mysql 5.6v then we reinstalled to the recommendable version (mysql 5.6) also we had to check the catalina log file (which can be accessed from tomcat folder ) to verify the right port to use in the web browser to open mifos application.
