Hello Bharath

We are using Apache-fineract 1.7.3
The decimal places are setup as 2 at product level.

I have been chatting with 3 other users and support technicians, and they are
all acknowledging the existence of the problem across versions now.

If you change the amortisation type from reducing interest balance to equal
interest the system works perfectly fine. All decimals in place.
But once you switch back to reducing balance, the rounding problem returns.

Regards.

Blessing.

Subject: Re: [Mifos-users] Rounding up Problem : Amortisation Monthly Instalment

Hi Nyakubaya, Tinashe,

That's an Interesting Issue that we are discussing here, Could you let us know
which version of fineract you are getting this error.
Also, what is the decimal place mentioned at the loan product level?

Good day

On my end, the declining balance is configured and it's behaving as outlined by
Nyakubaya. I tried changing the rounding off options in global configurations
but still the system rounds down all the installments and sets off with the
last installments which I think should not be the case.

Which interest method did you choose while creating the loan product itself? is
it a Flat or declining balance?

Good day,

We have just started populating our Mifos and noticing that the amortisation
schedule is rounding down:

  1. The first Principal Due, and
  2. All the monthly installments, (except the final installment).

Then rounds up all the cumulative decimals affected by the explanation above
into the final installment as shown in the highlighted cell.

I have supplied, further below, the Excel Based amortisation schedule for the
same loan and everything works well up to the end of the loan.

If someone else has come across this issue before, may you kindly share the
solution?
