OpenVPN is perfectly acceptable. MikroTik just refuses to implement udp mode.
Some people think that is important.
SSTP seems to work fine.
PPTP was drug out to an undisclosed location and shot with an anti-aircraft gun
four or five years ago.
My favorite is L2TP/IPsec. MikroTik makes it dead simple to setup the server
since 6.20something, IIRC. I just wish the nat-t mode could learn to deal with
multiple clients behind the same IP. I usually setup L2TP/IPsec, with a PSK,
and SSTP for clients.
L2TP/IPsec is about the only secure VPN that doesn't require extra software on
Android, Apple IOS, Mac OS, and Windows.
For MikroTik to MikroTik, I use L2TP/IPsec.
