Critical thing to be aware of is that while the newest devices are moving
towards all having SFP/SFP+ dual capability ports there are a number of the
older models / older devices that some or none of the SFP+ slots support
SFP modules.

Biggest warnings is in regards to the CRS2XX series and the CCR1016-12S-1S+

Note that the table may not be perfect as all the devices that only have
SFP slots show compatibility with SFP+ optics. I haven't tried using 10G
optics in these SFP slots at 1Gbps so it could work, just unusual to see.

And to reiterate this as many people seem to sometimes have issues:
Both sides of the link need to have auto negotiate disabled and speed hard
set to 1Gbps FD. And if the optics are connected before this is done then
disable and re enable the interface to bring it up.
