Is it possible to bridge LAN connection and VPN/PPTN connection?
This way we can solve the DHCP and NetBIOS problem?
Thanks.

Generally NetBIOS is not routable, and all participants need to be in
the same broadcast domain.
If you need to span broadcast domains, you usually need a domain
controller.

Hello All,
I'm going to replace a windows VPN server with a mikrotik.
Current system:
Office A, IP=192.168.0.0/24
Domain Server+DHCP Server = Win2003 Server = 192.168.0.11
VPN Server = win2003 Server 192.168.0.180
Internet connection is using ADSL line.
Remote user, using WinXP, dial to VPN Server, got IP from the DHCP
server (not from the VPN server), got the same subnet IP, eg.
192.168.0.61..69.
Remote user can run inventory application at office A, using netbios
name. User just install the application, and it run smoothly, no extra
configuration needed. Just like they are sitting at office A.
User at Office A can print to remote printer, using ms windows
printer sharing, using netbios name.
And the problem is:
1. Is it possible to assign the same subnet IP to VPN client?
If I assign a different subnet IP to VPN client, eg. 192.168.20.0/24,
with proper routing table, remote dan local PC can ping each other.
But both cannot resolve netbios name (which is needed for the
inventory application).
If I assign the same subnet IP to the VPN client, both side cannot
ping to each other, neither with IP number nor netbios name.
2. How to setup, so the VPN Client got the IP from the Win2003 DHCP
Server,
not from the Mikrotik?
Please help.
Thanks.
