Subject: [Mikrotik] Multiple Default Routes

Hey guys,

I've got two internet connections - one is significantly slower than the other and is on the far side of my network. It is primarily used for failover if the wireless link fails. I would like to use this connection as a backup internet connection when my primary goes down, however I only want internet traffic routed to this internet connection if the primary is down. I don't want to load-balance or anything like that, just failover.

Am I correct in my assumption that if I just make sure the slower connection has a higher distance, it will only use it when the primary is unavailable? Right now I have it set with simply a distance of 1 for my primary and 2 for the secondary.
