I can't comment from experience, but at some point I'm going to be setting something similar to your scenario up on my own network. What I'm finding is that they say you need to enable reversible encryption in AD either per user or globally for them to authenticate in 2008+.

We're just switching our VPN machine (Tik 5.8...) to look at a new radius
server - used to go to IAS on Win 2003 server, now going toward a Win 2008
server with NPS running.

Looks like I've gotten the configurations matched, just NOT having luck
getting the Tik to authenticate me as a VPN User....
