My beta tests are complete and the newest version of my Advanced QOS
Script for RouterOS is available. The added features for this version
include support for RouterOS v6+ and a feature I call streaming server
retention. I have already added these features to the Base System and
am in the process of adding them to the Per Interface scripts (it's
tested, but not added, yet). I should have these updated before the
first of next week.

The idea behind the retention of streaming server IP addresses is not my
own. I don't know for certain who originated the idea, but I first
heard it from a guy at Animal Farm from a company called Blast
Communications in Aurora, IL. The importance of this addition revolves
around the problems caused when a user starts a stream at one speed and
it when it reaches the limit of http transfers (this is how we detect
certain types of streams), it is then throttled down to a slower speed.
This action causes the movie stream to "rebuffer". This feature will
watch for servers, which are typically going to be on the CDN networks,
and will choke down ALL traffic originating from those servers
initially, so there will be no need to rebuffer.

If you purchased your copy of this script within the past year, you can
get the new version at no additional cost by sending me an email and
include the order ID from your purchase. If your purchase was more than
one year ago, you'll need to purchase the upgrade. If you're not
certain when you purchased or need to find your Order ID, simply log
into your account at http://store.wispgear.net/ and click the "View My
Order History" link on the right.

If you have not, yet, purchased the QOS Script for RouterOS, that, too,
is available at http://store.wispgear.net/.

Also, don't forget about training opportunities that are fast
approaching. If you or some of your employees need training for the
RouterOS platform, why not go with the MOST experienced training
company? I have been training about RouterOS since 2004. Not even
Mikrotik has been training for that long! If you are not sure what a
good training program can do for you or your company, please ask around.
I have trained THOUSANDS of users on this platform, including EVERY
active trainer in the US market. By all means, post questions to this
(or any other) list and see how pleased my customer base has been. Once
you are sure you found the right training partner, go to the store site
and register. If you have questions for me, call me at 702-537-0979 or
drop me an email.
