Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I am considering deploying MSTP on my network to provide redundancy for my other VLANs and it doesn't look like MT has native support for it. My understanding is that MSTP supports "fallback" to RSTP.

I have HP switches and use Mikrotik as my routing platform. I have an EoIP tunnel set up that acts as an alternate path (over the internet) to root for my existing RSTP implementation.

Wondering if I were to create bridges for each VLAN I want redundancy and assign them the same RSTP value (same value unique to each switch/device) if it would work? I also imagine I would have to create an EoIP tunnel for each bridge that I would want to failover using the internet.

So I'm thinking my config would be like this:

VLAN1
Router1, bridge 1 - RSTP - priority 0: eoip tunnel 1, vlan interface 1
MSTP configuration on switches
Router2, bridge 1 - RSTP - priority F000: eoip tunnel 1, vlan interface 1

VLAN2
Router1, bridge 2 - RSTP - priority 0: eoip tunnel 2, vlan interface 2
MSTP config on switches
Router2, bridge 2 - RSTP - priority F000: eoip tunnel 2, vlan interface 2

etc.

Since the interfaces would be unique to each bridge, would this work? I admit it would be a bit hacky, but the EoIP would only be used when all other paths fail.
