We only use EoIP for troubleshooting and configuration fixes for things at layer 2. So I may setup a tunnel from the office network to a remote router so I can reach something over layer 2 that's broken at layer 3. That said I have never had a problem with making tunnels from various versions of 5.x to 6.x until last night. I was trying to create a tunnel to a RB2011 with 6.33 (then upgraded to 6.33.2) and was never able to get large enough packets through to connect to anything. I could discover the devices on the other side of the tunnel and could ping them, but web interfaces wouldn't load. Classic MTU problem, I screwed and screwed with various MTU settings on the bridge and the tunnel and nothing worked.
Finally setup some VLAN's to the next router upstream, EoIP'd do that router and everything worked. It's a RB2011 running 6.21.1. Anyone else seen this?
