i've made a UNIX password cracker, like JohntheRipper and CrackerJack
writed from scrath (xcept the DES !),...and performed OK , fast & powerfull
!
this one named "dAvE tHe sTrIpPeR"
currently support 2 cracking modez :
1. dictionary/wordlist (-d)
in the default distro i don't give any wordlist, but i think u can find
it at hackers-site
or k-elektronik(indo-wordlist).
it assume "dave.dic" as default wordlist filename
most common used in passwd cracking, depends how good is your
dictionary/wordlist.
2. brute-force/incremental (-b)
powerfull, but rather slow (4 digit and above)
tested on Celeron-300,32MB, results :
2 digit passwd, cracked in 26 sec
3 digit passwd, cracked in 28 minutes
4 digit passwd, cracked in a whole-day
5...6....try yourself !
it should always success 100%
but.....you need a super-comp or paralel processing to finish it before
u die ! (for 7 digits above)
Runs under Linux ! , you must "chown +x dave" !
for complete reference, please read dave.txt in the distro file (dave.zip)
in John/JAck wordlist modez, they don't buffer the wordlist (CMIIW)
while dAvE does it ! it should crack faster for wordlist-modez than
others(john/jack)...please re-check!
