Memang ada dua device yang tampil, satu untuk usb storage, satunya untuk
modem, nah usb_modeswitch digunakan untuk berpindah dari device
usb-storage ke usb modem.
Maaf saya masih belum mengerti soal device-id gak berubah. Kan di lsusb
sudah keluar device-id buat modem, tinggal edit konfigurasi
usb_modeswitch.
Kalau cara saya, coba hasil dari lsusb itu diload lewat perintah modprobe
sudo modprobe usbserial vendor=xxxxxx product=xxxxxx
Kemudian jalankan wvdialconf untuk konfigurasi modem, lalu edit file
etc/wvdial.conf untuk konfigurasi username & pass.
Correct me if i'm wrong.

betul sekali kang din, modem ac1716 ini memang memilki 2 mode.
Nah ketika plugin pertama, yang keluar adalah id 19d2:fff5 dimana ini
berarti modem dikenali sebagai usb device storage. Nurut blog skysgrey
modem baru bisa berfungsi sebagai usb serial jika sudah dikenali lsusb
sebagai 19d2:fff1. Nah cara ini sudah sy coba lewat konfigurasi
usb_modeswitch dan modprobe usb serial tapi tetap saja hasilnya modem
sebagai usb storage (19d2:fff5). Bagaimana caranya supaya modem bisa
berubah fungsi menjadi modem serial usb dan menghasilkan node di
/dev/ttyUSBxxx agar dapat dikenali oleh networkmanager atau wvdial.

Sudahkah pakai cara ini
Coba diload pakai :
$ sudo modprobe usbserial vendor=0x19d2 product=0xfff1
Kemudian coba konfigurasi modem pakai:
$ sudo wvdialconf
Semoga dikenali dengan baik dan langsung dikonek pakai :
$ wvdial
Semoga tidak konek ke usb storage lagi (19d2:fff5) :)
