Either I am way off base or I believe you are WAY reinventing the wheel. Everything in this email is largely the #1 use for MIMEDefang. If you look at the example suggested windows filter (or the INSTALL and the INSTALL-MCAFEE) at http://www.pccc.com/downloads/MIMEDefang/ and you should be able to see how to scan for SPAM and virii using MIMEDefang just about out of the box.
