I saw these entries in my milter timing out, I thought it was caused from my older version of sendmail 8.12.3-debian. So I upgraded sendmail to 8.12.11, and the problem still kept occuring. When restarting mimedefang you need to add a at least a .5 second delay and 3 seconds works better; on linux to solve milter problems.
Sometimes you need to stop sendmail, stop mimedefang, wait 3 seconds, then start mimedefang and then start sendmail to resolve milter problems. I upgraded from clamscan to clamdscan and added in the extra scanning options: --mbox --unzip -r So now I have a working system: sendmail-8.12.11 Mimedefang 2.38 clamd .65 running as clamdscan. It is handling the sco virus, and the normal mail load perfectly. I believe David Skoll mentioned that you should run 8.12.5 as your miniumum sendmail as it fixes a number of milter bugs in sendmail. I might go back to 8.12.3(timely security updates for debian) now that I have found the milter problems were not caused by sendmail. --Luke -- Luke Computer Science System Administrator Security Administrator,College of Engineering Montana State University-Bozeman,Montana _______________________________________________ Visit http://www.mimedefang.org and http://www.canit.ca MIMEDefang mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.roaringpenguin.com/mailman/listinfo/mimedefang
