I notice that the documentation is still inconsistent on the availability of "built-in" global variables like $Sender. The section "GLOBAL VARIABLE LIFETIME" says "$Subject, $Sender, etc. are only available . . ." This is true for $Subject, but not for $Sender. I think that paragraph should be removed. Also, every time filter is referenced, filter_multipart should be included. Also, the "Outside a subroutine in your filter file" should have " or in filter_initialize" appended. I don't know if it's worth adding a paragraph for filter_cleanup that is similar to the one for filter_end or not.
