Haven't read up - what does SocketMAP do?

It allows you to have sendmail connect to a daemon and ask if the email address is valid or not. This makes sendmail more flexible for systems where the user may not be a valid unix user such as a cyrus mail system.
I'm not sure how mimedefang would use this.... David, what is mimedefangs role in this?
