Hi,

MIMEDefang 2.53-BETA-2 is available at http://www.mimedefang.org/node.php?id=1

This release is specifically to work around a problem in clamd:
Some ZIP files are compressed with a new "deflate64" algorithm.
clamd can't handle this, and neither can zlib. However, the "unzip"
program can.

So MIMEDefang has been altered so that if clamd returns a "Zip module failure",
we fall back on a command-line scan using "clamscan --unzip".

This is, of course, a dirty hack. It only works properly if both clamscan
and unzip are installed and on your PATH.

It's also likely to be the only "correct" solution for a while, because
the zlib authors aren't interested in supporting deflate64, and the clamd
authors are unlikely to integrate support for external unpackers in libclamav.

Full changelog to 2.52 follows.

Regards,

David.

        * VERSION 2.53-BETA-2 RELEASED

        * mimedefang.pl.in: If clamd fails with a "Zip module error",
we fall back on "clamscan --unzip". If both clamscan and
unzip are installed, this lets us handle "deflate64" compression,
which is NOT available in libz or clamd.
