Sorry...
Just entered the -x into /etc/rc.d/init.d/mimedefang script as
described below - restarted mimedefang and it works perfectly.

if you are using the rehdat jobbie, then either in (depending on
which you are using)
/etc/sysconfig/mimedefang
or
/etc/rc.d/init.d/mimedefang
MD_EXTRA="-X"
and that should do it
