I have seen the same trend...yesterday 72.8% of mail activity was virus
traffic, today it has dropped to 0.52%.
According to a write-up I found on Sober from Sophos' web site, Sober
was set to attempt to download code from a handful of domains at
midnight on the 6th, and if that download was not successful, it would
stop attempting to propagate by email.
