Or you could use SFTP. There are SSH clients for all major platforms,
and some of the Windows-based ones are very easy to use. You get the
traditional two-pane "local" and "remote" directory displays, and you

I host my sister's web site, and that's how she updates her content. Really
very easy, and more secure than plain FTP.
There's FTPS (FTP over TLS) as well. It works over the existing FTP
ports and most FTP clients already support it.
