I am attempting to get bayes working under mimedefang, and I am having a

spamassassin.
MD calls the SA perl modules directly, so it doesn't use
/usr/bin/spamassassin or spamc. It uses sa-mimedefang.cf, but will (in
my experience, at least) pick up other /etc/mail/spamassassin/*.cf files.
If you don't already have it set, you might try setting
$SALocalTestsOnly = 0
in mimedefang-filter. The man page only refers to it affecting network
tests, but I suppose it might affect Bayes as well.
