Good Morning, I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for optimizing mimedefang so that it doesn't run the load up while still able to process mail on a shared server. We run shared hosting Red Hat 7.3 servers with apache, mysql, urchin, sendmail (8.12), and sometimes sun asp. There are a few clients that like to add mimedefang/clamav/spammassasian into the mix. In most cases the load high as a result.
Here are stats for one server yesterday. This is a 24 hour period. Inbound messages Outbound messages ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total 166042 Total 263555 Average size (kB) 19.76 Sent 251168 Messages/hour 6918.58 Deferred 4340 Messages/min 115.31 Queued 1728 Messages/sec 1.92 Other error 6319 mimedefang version 2.53 sendmail 8.12.10 clamav 0.87 SpamAssassin version 3.1.0 running on Perl version 5.6.1 Any suggestions at all to help get mimedefang to run more efficiently in this environment are much appreciated.
